Kindergarten Program

We offer a 4-year-old Kindergarten Program which operates 5 days a week. We are hoping to operate a limited time 3-year-old Kindergarten in 2026.

Families are able to select the days they wish their child to attend these services. Our Kindergarten Program operates from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Friday excluding Public Holidays.

As a Kindergarten team, the educators ensure that the Kindergarten children are provided with a stimulating, educational and adventure-packed program. We work collaboratively with families to ensure that the children attending Ferguson Street 4-year-old Kindergarten are ready for school at the end of the year.

We hold regular Parent-Teacher interviews throughout the year, during 2025 these have had to be phone interviews as we endeavour to maintain our Social Distancing in all things, to provide information on School Readiness

A child attending Kindergarten in Victoria is only entitled to only one State Government Kindergarten funded support, so if a child is attending another local Kindergarten, families must decide which Kinder will receive the funding support at the beginning of the Kindergarten year. This funding does not have the capacity to be split between services, unlike CCS which does.

The Department of Education requires families to complete Parental Education and Occupation Details each year as part of the State Kindergarten Census. The list of Parental Occupation Codes for this survey is attached to Parental Codes. Please check your occupation against the list attached so that the data collected for our service is correct.

Ferguson Street Kindergarten and Early Learning Centre are registered with the Federal Department of Education (DoE) as a provider of Childcare Subsidy to eligible families.
